ISLAMABAD – The cyber crimes court in Islamabad on Thursday ordered the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to submit complete challan in the case of posting defamatory and derogatory remarks against a US national woman of Pakistani origin. The court fixed 14 September 2021 the date for framing charges against the two accused Atiq Azam Khan and Maria Farooq alias Maria Orakzai, who are involved in posting defamatory and vulgar comments against an American national woman Ms Sabeen.
Senior Civil Judge -I (West) Islamabad Muhammad Amir Aziz Khan issued directions to FIA Cyber Crimes Wing Islamabad Investigation Officer (IO) Ms Misbah to submit a complete challah in the case by September 14. When the judge took up case, the IO of FIA Cyber Crimes Wing Ms Misbah told court that during the investigation carried out by her, both accused Atiq Azam Khan and Maria Farooq alias Maria Orakzai were found guilty of committing crime against a US national woman of Pakistani origin. Afzal Ali Tahir Advocate and Jawad Ali Raja have appeared before the court on behalf of accused, whereas, Fahad Shabbir Advocate was representing the complainant in the case. Senior Civil Judge-I (West) Islamabad Muhammad Amir Aziz Khan has also ordered both accused to furnish surety bonds worth Rs 30,000 each to the satisfaction of this court for their appearance before the court. In the meanwhile, the copies of documents as required u/s 241-A CrPc have been delivered to the accused Atiq Azam Khan and Maria Farooq Orakzai to indict them on the next date of hearing.
