Fakhar Zaman became the quickest batsman to score 1000 runs in one-day cricket during the fifth one-day international against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo.
The left handed batsman surpassed 1000 runs in 18 innings.
The record was previous held by Sir Vivian Richards of the West Indies. The Caribbean batting maestro took 21 innings to set the record in 1980 against England.
The visitors are eyeing to complete a clean sweep in the ODI series over the hosts. They currently lead the series 4-0.
Pakistan won the first game of the series by 201 runs and went on to take a 2-0 lead by beating Zimbabwe by nine wickets.
The green shirts clinched the series after they won the third ODI by nine wickets. They went on to win the fourth ODI by 244 runs thanks to a record opening partnership of 304 runs by Fakhar Zaman and Imamul Haq.
