Islam is a religion of peace, said the imam of one of the mosques. “The people who are behind these attacks should choose the path of peace too.”
He remarked that security around the mosque has been put on high alert for Friday prayers on March 22.
The attack comes just a week after a gunman shot dead 50 people when he opened fire in two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.
