The Game of Thrones fans have been waiting for the battle against the Night King and his Army of the Dead. However, one of the biggest talking points was not who died, or what the final outcome of the battle was (although many are talking about that too), but the fact that it was very difficult to see what was actually happening.
The episode, titled ‘The Long Night’, brought the Night King and his teeming army of the undead to assault the defenders of the living at Winterfell. The army arrived under a cloak of darkness, and the hour-plus combat was barely visible to some.
Many have said that the makers intentionally kept the episode dark to go with the overall feel of the episode. But that didn’t stop the fans from complaining about the show’s visibility on social media.

It’s easy to understand that showrunners wanted to evoke the stress and chaos of battle and so likely made it harder for fans to keep up with the pace. But for many, some better lighting wouldn’t have gone amiss.
Fortunately, the trailer for episode four suggests that things will take a brighter turn.
