Give freedom and awareness to ordinary voter

  • July 04, 2022

The game of mudslinging and swearing at each other through the media was played with such skill that no one bothered to think or analyze what are the real problems faced by the state of Pakistan and how they will be solved, and how poverty will be eradicated. What will be the strategy for overcoming ignorance, how will the challenges be faced at the international level, and whether any party can face the challenges or not? One of the great features of capitalism is that it brings ordinary people to the lowest level.

Therefore, the ability to think beyond one’s small and superficial desires is lost. Reactions and emotions are at an all-time high. This is the level of frustration and helplessness that achieving a lofty goal seems like an impossible task. And one leader’s superiority over another is simply based on the fact that he is better than others.

The role of media wizards is paramount in this whole process. It is probably called free media because it has complete freedom to enslave minds. Continuous propaganda on the agenda is an effective way of brainwashing the voters to reach the desired results.

To make such a fuss about one of the weaknesses of the opposition and to blow up so much dust that nothing else is visible and the voter has to establish his opinion keeping only this aspect in mind, this is the work of election campaigners and this non-violent strategy is called democratic awareness.

A voter who is worried about his livelihood from morning till evening, who forms all his opinions as a result of the same propaganda of the media, cannot in any way accurately analyze or express any correct opinion. Pressures from the community, profession, workers, peasants, capitalist employers, and landlords are also very effective in influencing the electorate, but the stage of directly toying with the hunger of the economically distressed and impoverished electorate is most fruitful and His opinion can be easily bought for money.

What could be worse than the degradation of our electoral system that in every constituency tickets are given to the same class with the same ability to buy and sell? They are the star in the eye of the party because victory is their destiny and whichever way they turn, the star of the same party is on the rise.

The question is, in the presence of all these factors, what is the reality of the concept of free speech, how can the vote be considered a trust, and can the vote be given real respect? How can we make a voter a thinker by keeping him ignorant of social dynamics? How can one with a mind entangled in economic issues be expected to give an opinion on national-level issues? Can a voter think beyond the siege of propaganda based on tools and agendas? Is it possible to give an opinion against one’s economic masters? If this is not the case, then the first responsibility of the political parties becomes to take steps to ensure the free and conscious opinion of the voters.

Unfortunately, our political parties do not have a strategy to realize this bitter reality and to remove the pressure, fear, and unconsciousness in their voters. The tragedy is that their leadership tries to gather all its workers around themselves so that their behavior only aggravates rather than diminishes this unconsciousness.

There is no tendency in any party to discuss national and international issues. The concept of studying circular and political training is non-existent and there is no strategy to create morals and attitudes of service to the people above all, there is no real plan to provide prosperity to the people if they come to power.

Does not exist. As a result of this practice, there is a lack of mutual trust between our political leadership and the people. This is the reality that the great freedom fighter Hazrat Maulana Obaidullah Sindhi (Rh) had said at the end of his 20 years of exile. I want to explain to my youth the importance of the vote. Also, ignore any social or religious pressures in this matter.

Without giving the voter consciousness and economic freedom, the idea of democracy will remain a hoax and the status of elections will be a game played with the people of the ruling classes to further divide and disintegrate the society and perpetuate its power. It is played to forgive.
