Imran goes after Maryam, Bilawal in Jhelum rally

  • September 21, 2017

JHELUM: PTI chief Imran Khan slammed Maryam Nawaz and Bilawal Bhutto on Thursday, stating that both young leaders had not risen in the ranks of their political parties on merit.

Addressing a political rally at Jhelum, the cricketer-turned-politician said that it was unfortunate that Maryam Nawaz and Bilawal Bhutto were leaders of their respective parties.

“Maryam and Bilawal haven’t worked one day in their entire lives,” said Imran. “They haven’t achieved anything either. What is the reason for appointing them as leaders?” asked the PTI chairman.

Imran said that there were millions of children across Pakistan who did not have access to quality education since the institutes of the country were in disarray.

“Annually, Pakistan produces 50,000-60,000 students who can compete with international students around the world,” he said. “If that is all that we can produce, then tell me, will we be able to survive in the coming world?” he asked.

Imran said that contrary to the other provinces, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 100% schools had teachers. He said that the provincial government had built 70 grounds for recreational activities after coming into power.

“In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, students have transferred from private to government schools since the situation has improved,” he said.

Imran said that Pakistan was fated to become an Islamic welfare state but owing to the actions of a certain elite class in the country.
