Imran, Tarin disqualification: Accounts details of Niazi Services produced
ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan resumed hearing of the disqualification case lodged against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Secretary Jahangir Khan Tarin today on Tuesday.
The details regarding the Euro accounts of Niazi Services were produced before the three-judge bench hearing a case against Imran Khan and Jahangir Tarin.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Hanif Abbasi filed a petition seeking the disqualification of Imran Khan over their alleged non-declaration of assets and ownership of offshore companies from the Parliament.
Appearing before the bench, Hanif Abbasi’s counsel Akram Sheikh said it is the first time that Niazi Services’ Euro account came to the fore.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar said the bench received new documents. Responding Sheikh’s remark, Chief Justice said, “We never talked about our powers.”
Responding a remark, the CJP said disqualification will come into effect over dishonesty, not nomination papers, adding every violation of law does not constitute a crime. –Samaa
