Former Pakistani cricketers Inzamamul Haq and Mushtaq Ahmed congratulated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan on becoming the next prime minister.
They paid a visit to Imran’s residence in Bani Gala to congratulate him on winning the elections.
They were welcomed by PTI leaders Faisal Javed Khan and Ali Amin Gandapur among others.
“Imran’s victory is a proud moment for all of us, especially cricketers,” Haq said. “As Imran said, many things will change.”
Ahmed said that the PTI chief’s sacrifices for the past 22 years have finally paid off.
“God willing, he will deliver what he has promised. He did not lose hope after losing the 1987 World Cup and won the 1992 World Cup for Pakistan,” he said.
The leg-spinner said that he will support Imran in this time of crisis.
“Champions always make losing teams win and he has the capability to do that,” Ahmed added.
