Islamabad Police arrest their fake boss

  • June 02, 2017

The suspect, identified as 72-year old Tahir Khaili, had called the PM Secretariat on May 25. After introducing himself as the SSP of Islamabad, he asked officials at the Secretariat to allot him a room in the Federal Lodges.

However, the officers at the PM Secretariat got suspicious and filed a complaint with the inspector general of police.

The application, submitted by a deputy secretary at the PM Secretariat, requested the police to investigate the issue and register an impersonation case against the suspect, or take disciplinary action against him if he was in fact an officer in the capital police.

However, when the police investigated the mater, they discovered that the man was a retired ranker of Sindh Police from Karachi and had arrived in the capital a few days ago. Secretariat police believe that the suspect managed to get accommodation at the K-P House through impersonation, and was now trying to move into the Federal Lodges.

He was arrested on May 28 and subsequently sent to Adiala Jail on judicial remand.
