KARACHI: The death toll in rain-related incidents over past two days in Karachi rose to 14 on Wednesday, as the city struggled with post rain problems.
Karachi has been receiving heavy downpour intermittently since Monday morning. The city received a maximum of 41 millimetres of rainfall late Monday night.
Coupled with gusty winds, the heavy rain wreaked havoc on the power supply system and municipal infrastructure as electrocution, falling billboard and roof collapse incidents left at least 14 people dead in different areas.
On Tuesday, Karachi received upto 33mm rain.
According to Met Office, the present spell of heavy rain is expected to continue till Wednesday. – Samaa
