We have lived in a happy burble of Karan Johar classics though time taught us strike flicks like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai can be intensely stupid too. And this has now been certified by a ace executive himself!
At a film festival, KJo suggested that KKHH had a stupid theme. “Actually Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is a really scarcely stupid theme. Don’t know what a mom wrote in those 8 letters. How can an eight-year-old review that?”

“Once Shabana Azmi ji called me after examination a film and said, ‘What is this, when she was not pleasing adore didn’t happen, though a impulse she incited beautiful, wore saree, grew prolonged hair, adore happened? What do we wish to say?’ ”
“There was some ignorance in films of those times, when we used to contend ‘pyaar dosti hai, adore is friendship’. we have done a film on a same thesis though have updated a tonality… That film KKHH had an organic innocence,” he common with Business Standard.
He added, “I was 24 when we wrote that film… But we can’t write a same film now. When we see ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ currently or ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ we myself wonder, ‘Why did we write this, how did we write this, from where these thoughts came to my mind?”
Irrespective of how ‘silly’ a film was, it will continue being a best of Bollywood for us, for life!
