  • March 02, 2021

Brilliant performance from Faheem Ashraf and Paul Stirling was enough for Islamabad United to secure a comfortable eight-wicket win against Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021.

In the 12th match of the
competition, Shadab Khan won the toss and asked the Gladiators to bat first at
the National Stadium in Karachi on Tuesday.

The decision proved a correct one as Quetta
lost four wickets inside the powerplay for just 41 runs.

However, a brilliant half-century from
captain Sarfaraz Ahmed helped the side in posting a respectable total of 156
for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Sarfaraz finished the innings with the top
score of 54 off 41 balls with the help of three fours and four sixes.

For Islamabad, pacer Faheem was the star
performer as he claimed three wickets and gave away just 11 runs in four overs.

In reply, United chased down the target in the
17th over at the expense of just four wickets.

Opener Paul Stirling was the star of the show
as he played a brilliant knock of 56 off 33 balls with the help of eight fours
and two sixes.

For Gladiators, right-arm leggie Zahid Mahmood was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed two wickets.
