Says Imran Khan himself played county cricket in England
Javed Miandad, a member of Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup winning team, opposed on Saturday Prime Minister Imran Khan’s decision to end department’s role in cricket.
The former captain, who shared a dressing room with PM Khan for many years, said that Pakistan’s economy is a big problem.
“People want jobs, no one wants to play cricket or hockey,” Miandad told reporters in Karachi. He was apparently responding to media reports saying PM Khan has directed PCB Chairperson Ehsan Mani to abolish departments’ role in cricket structure.
“Imran Khan… prime minister… you also played this. Didn’t you play county [cricket] in England?” Miandad asked. “Imran Khan ask your supporters who you have taken votes from if what we are saying is correct or what you are saying is correct,” he said.
