Nadeem Nusrat involved in anti-Pakistan activities: Farooq Sattar

  • June 30, 2017

“Those in London have aligned themselves with the anti-Pakistan lobby to speak against the country, the armed forces and other state institutions by using the name of the suppressed masses and their support,” Sattar said while addressing a news conference in Karachi on Friday.

This, he added, includes fresh audio messages as well as demands for referendum in Balochistan on the call of separatists.

“The statements being issued from London are not in favour of the Urdu-speaking people,” Sattar said. “MQM’s founder should not use their name.”

We, Sattar added, condemn the move to cause harm to national security. The MQM-Pakistan chief went on to add that the leaders in London had actually continued with the politics in line with the August 22 speech.

He was apparently referring to Altaf Hussain’s remarks last year pertaining to state institutions, which resulted in attacks on the offices of television channels.

The statements had drawn widespread criticism and subsequent split in the party, with one faction distancing itself from the party’s founder and his inflammatory speech.

Sattar added that offices of the MQM-Pakistan party in different areas of the metropolis, shut down in a crackdown following the remarks, were still closed.
