Navjot Sidhu has arrived in Pakistan to attend Imran Khan’s oath-taking ceremony

Former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu has arrived in Pakistan to attend the swearing-in ceremony of prime minister-designate Imran Khan.

He reached Lahore by crossing the Wagah Border on Friday afternoon.

The former batsman has been invited to the oath-taking ceremony by the PTI chairperson. Indian cricketers Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev were also invited by the party.

Gavaskar refused to attend the event stating that he was busy with his commentary in England.

“I have come to Pakistan as a friend, not as a politician,” said Sidhu. He added that the pleasant change in Pakistan’s democratic history is a historic moment.

“Imran Khan knows how to transform weaknesses into strengths,” he said.

The former Indian cricketer said that he has seen Imran perform valiantly on the field.
