Nawaz, Shehbaz to meet in London to discuss ‘Minus Maryam’ formula, other matters
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been summoned to London by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. As per media reports, the two will discuss important matters pertaining to managing the party and NAB hearings.
According to party sources, Shehbaz Sharif will give his advice to Nawaz with regard to the NAB hearings as well as other matters of importance when the two meet. Shehbaz will depart for London on Saturday, September 23.
Sources stated that while former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was in favour of appearing before NAB, his daughter Maryam Nawaz on the other hand was strictly against it.
During the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif will convey the reservations of senior party leaders to the former prime minister.
Party sources further claimed that the ‘Minus Maryam’ formula will also be deliberated upon in the meeting.
Nawaz Sharif and his sons Hassan and Hussain were to appear before NAB in order to respond to the references filed against them in the Panama Leaks case.
However, the former prime minister is in London to visit his ailing wife Kulsoom Nawaz.
