Chief Meteorologist Muhammad Riaz said though there is no chance of more than average rains in the monsoon season but if India gets more rains then it would also affect the rain patterns in Pakistan.

“Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has held three meetings with them and a comprehensive plan has been prepared to ensure swift and effective coordination among all the stakeholders to provide real-time information about the rain patterns through early warning systems,” he said.

He said most of the parts in Pakistan would receive average rains but in case India receives more rains then some parts of Pakistan including AJK may receive more rains in July, August and September.

Muhammad Riaz said when border areas of India receive more rains in the monsoon season then the flow of water increases in streams and small rivers in various areas including Sialkot, Narowal, Pasroor, Daska, Gujranwala, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Layya and Bahawalpur.

He said they are putting in their best efforts to keep vigil over the rain patterns and prepare the relevant real-time data to avoid loss of life and property in case of any flood-like situation.
