Pakistan facing negative effects of climate change: SAPM Amin Aslam

Islamabad   –   Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam on Thursday said that Pakistan is facing the negative effects of climate change. 

  A number of programmes have been launched including the project which will not only help restore the natural environment but also promote ecotourism. Addressing the National Climate Action seminar, Malik Amin Aslam said that the average temperature of the country is rising as a result of the negative effects of climate change. 

The Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Project tops the list. He said that on the directive of the Prime Minister, the number of National Parks has been increased across the country which will not only help in restoring the natural environment but also promote ecotourism. 

Malik Amin Aslam said that the government is increasing the budget from Rs 4 billion to Rs 40 billion to deal with the negative effects of climate change. Coal projects are being shifted to hydro projects.
