Police accelerate  efforts to dispose of  property-related cases

ISLAMABAD-Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Islamabad Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer has said that Islamabad police have accelerated their efforts to dispose of property-related cases on merit.

He said during the last month, the police arrested 156 accused and also busted some of the gangs besides recovery of valuables including cash and gold ornaments worth Rs66 million from them. He said that, following directions of IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman and DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmad Kausar, renewed efforts were made by all officers for safety and security of the citizens. SSP Operation said that investigation of 134 cases was completed and their challans were submitted in the relevant courts. A total of 46 burglary/theft cases were disposed of besides arrest of 75 burglars and valuables worth over Rs4.7 million were recovered. As many as 43 car/bike-lifters involved in 56 cases were held besides recovery of 27 stolen cars, 24 motorbikes worth over Rs4.69 million from their possession.
