Police book woman for misbehaving with ITP officers

ISLAMABAD – Kohsar police have registered a case against a woman involved in misbehaving with the officers of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), informed sources on Saturday.

The case was registered on plaintiff of the officer of ITP against the woman under sections 353/186/188 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), they said. However, no arrest was made while the police sealed the First Information Report (FIR), they added. A high-level inquiry has also been launched against the officers of ITP on duty who stopped the lady, whose name is not being shared by the police, over violation of traffic rules in the capital, sources said. Superintendent of Police (SP) City Zone Rana Abdul Wahab, when contacted by The Nation, confirmed that an FIR was lodged against the woman on plaintiff of officer of ITP. He, however, said the high ups of ITP have also ordered an inquiry against the officers of traffic police to ascertain their role in the incident.

Earlier, the Islamabad police sprung into action only after a video showing a woman misbehaving with officers of ITP in capital when they stopped her car over violation of traffic rules and demanded her to show up driving license. The police officer also broke the unauthorised registration plate of the car of the woman.
