Police bust gang involved in house robberies in capital  

ISLAMABAD – Police arrested members of a notorious gang of robbers (commonly known as Ghani gang) involved in a series of house robberies in affluent areas of the capital.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Afzaal Ahmed Kausar said that CIA police arrested eight active members of the gang for their involvement in several robbery and burglary incidents. He said that ring leader of this gang identified as Abdul Ghani alias Abdul Wahid Usman had named it as ‘Ghani Gang’ and it was wanted to police for last 15 years. 

SSP (Operations) Syed Ali Akbar Shah and SP (Investigation) Liaqat Hyat Niazi were also present on the occasion. 

The gangsters used to enter the houses through nullahs adjacent to them and make house inmates hostage at gunpoint.
