PTI jeopardising national security: Shehbaz Sharif

LAHORE   –  The PML-N President and National Assembly Opposition Leader Mian Shehbaz Sharif Sunday accused the PTI government of jeopardising national security by destroying the country’s economy and causing historic inflation.

“It is a clear choice between this government or the people and the national economy because the Imran government is causing the country billions of dollars worth of loss every single day”, he said in a statement. 

He pointed out that the government had increased the prices of edibles even more after announcing it was working to control the prices of commodities.“This is the truth behind the so-called empathy and promises of this government”, he said.

Shehbaz said his statement had proven true again that Imran was deceiving both the people and the IMF by lying about everything.“Why were the prices raised on IMF’s demand if the negotiations with the IMF had failed and why was the government hiding IMF conditions from the Parliament and the nation?”, he asked.

Shehbaz further stated:”The constantly rising inflation and IMF’s conditions regarding accounts of national institutions is an alarming situation. What kind of good days has this government brought that the prices of everything including sugar, wheat, flour, electricity, gas, medicines, lentils, oil, petrol, fruits and vegetables have skyrocketed?”. He said this government was adding fuel to inflation to the raging dumpster fire of destruction of the national economy. The failures of this government have endangered national interest and if the country is not rescued from them it would result in irreparable damage”, he maintained.

He pointed out that finance minister’s exit before completion of negotiations with the IMF and the vacationing of ministers showed the non-serious behaviour of this government towards crisis they had created. He suggested that the entire government should be sent on vacations, and replaced by honest and dedicated people who care about the country. “That’s what would solve the problems”, he said, adding that it had been proven that this government was incapacitated and incapable of running the country. “Wasting any more time would be disastrous for the nation”, he warned.

He said the entire nation was facing economic strife because of Imran and his government. It wasn’t only the poor but the white collar middle class was also suffering, he added. Shehbaz urged the people to come on the streets and join the protests against national destruction by the PTI government and send it packing.
