At least 49 people were killed and 176 were injured after rains and floods hit various areas across Pakistan this week, the National Disaster Management Authority said Wednesday.
According to a report by the NDMA, 15 people were killed in Punjab, 11 in Balochistan, 18 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and five in Sindh.
The report said that 117 houses were also damaged by rains and floods. The NDMA has sent an alert to the government departments for relief work.
According to the Met department, more thunderstorms and rains are expected in Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
