Rawalpindi   –   The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has finalised the waste management plan for Eid-ul-Azha.

The RCB high ups, following the instructions of Station Commander Brig Ijaz Qamar Kiani, have set up 27 temporary slaughter points and 10 other complaint centres while 800 sanitary workers, 22 sanitary supervisors, and 4 public health officers would perform their duties to clean the entrails and offals of sacrificial animals.

These views were expressed by Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) RCB Muhammad Farooq Ali Malik in a press briefing held here on Tuesday.

He said the RCB has distributed some 25000 biodegradable garbage bags among the residents to put the remains of the sacrificial animals. He said dumping points were made at Chungi Number 22, Tahli Point Peshawar Road and Danies School Saddar.

He said a monitoring desk has also been set which would be functioning 24 hours.

He said RCB has completed dredging work of 29 small and big Nullahs to avoid flood during pre-monsoon rains.
