Islamabad: With the daytime temperatures increasing fast to the frustration of Islooites out on the streets, here comes the good news.
According to the Met Office, there is a high likelihood of thundershowers falling in the capital city and adjoining areas from next Tuesday (April 4) to Thursday (April 6) under the influence of a westerly waves.
Isolated hailstorms are also expected.
“A weather system is expected to enter Pakistan next Monday (April 3). Under the influence of that system, rains coupled with dust and thunderstorms and gusty winds are expected in upper and some central parts of the country next week, while hailstorm is also expected at few places of upper Punjab, upper KP and Azad Jammu and Kashmir during the period,” an official of the Pakistan Meteorological Department said on Friday.
The weatherman said rains accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds were likely to fall in Islamabad and Rawalpindi from Tuesday to Thursday.
He also said thundershowers were expected at scattered places of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir from Monday to Thursday, isolated heavy rainfall in Malakand and Hazara divisions and AJK from Tuesday to Wednesday and rain and dust and thunderstorms at scattered places of Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore and Faisalabad divisions from Monday to Wednesday.
The weatherman also forecast windy rains with thunderstorm and gusty winds at isolated places of Quetta, Zhob, DG Khan, Multan and Sahiwal divisions next Monday and Tuesday.
