Twin cities suffer another power breakdown

Islamabad: Power supply to majority of areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Monday remained suspended due to tripping at 500 KV Rawat Grid Station. The abruptly suspension also caused tripping to new Ghakkar 500 KV grid station, said the spokesman for Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco).

However, he said system sustained the tripping and was safe and running. He said teams have been mobilized to restore the grid stations.

Meanwhile, most of the areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi till the filing of this report were restored and work on remaining areas was underway.
