Two killed, 20 suspects held in overnight Karachi raids

KARACHI: At least two suspects were during an encounter with police in Karachi’s Lyari, late on Wednesday night, officials said.

According to police, the law enforcers launched search operation in Kalakot, Sangolane, Nawa Lane and Rexer Lane of Lyari, where the accused opened fire on the police party.

In an ensuing encounter, two suspects were killed, said the police.

Separately, police apprehended 20 suspects including a ‘hitman’ during actions in Surjani Town, Shadman, Boat Basin, Tipu Sultan, Shah Latif Town and Ittehad Town late on Wednesday.

According to police the target killer, arrested from Surjani Town, is affiliated to a political party.

Meanwhile, an alleged dacoit was killed by the firing of a security guard of a restaurant near Aysha Manzil area.

According to SP Gulberg Town, Bashir Birohi, the burglar was looting the citizen at gunpoint when he was shot by the guard.
