Women rights romantic Nigar Ahmed passes divided in Lahore

KARACHI: Women rights romantic and charitable Nigar Ahmed breathed her final in Lahore on Friday.

A leftist, Ahmed was a first member of a Women Action Forum (1981). In 1986 she spearheaded and co-founded a Aurat Foundation with Shehla Zia – in criticism opposite General Ziaul Haq’s compulsory regime.

While she was pang from Parkinson’s illness given long; a few days ago she complained of chest infection, and was certified in a sanatorium in a Punjab capital, where she upheld away.

Remembering a onslaught for women’s rights

Remembering her crony and an aged associate, Anis Haroon said: “I have mislaid an old, kind crony today. we learnt so most from her. Ideals of being a good tellurian being…patience and munificence were a hallmarks of her life”.

Her wake will take place in Lahore on Saturday after Asr prayers.
