Rao Anwar reinstated as SSP Malir
Rao Anwar was officially reinstated as the Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Malir as a notification to this effect was issued on Friday.
On November 19, the Sindh government restored Anwar a month after he was suspended for illegally arresting Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Khawaja Izharul Hasan.
Izhar was arrested and released hours later on September 16 in a rare move by the Sindh police that triggered a political firestorm in Karachi.
Meanwhile, Javed Akbar Riaz was transferred as additional inspector general police (AIGP) forensic division.
