  • May 23, 2020

Katy Perry opened up about her depression and revealed that it was so bad that she could not ‘even imagine living!’ Fortunately, however, the singer, who is currently expecting her first child, says she has found ‘light at the end of the tunnel.’

Her mental health struggles, however, had a lot of influence on her latest work.

During an interview for Good Morning America, Katy shard that ‘I was clinically depressed and coming out of that, didn’t know what my life was [while writing the new album]. I could not really imagine living, to be honest. [Fans] can expect a record all about resilience and finding the light at the end of the tunnel…‘Daisies’ is a song about going after your dreams and not worrying about what other people may think about that.’

The pregnant songstress also went on to share how she was able to eventually get over that tough period in her life.

‘Now I’ve done the work and I’m still doing the work physically, emotionally, spiritually, psychologically and I’ve come to this light at the end of the tunnel. [I realized] I am going to live, and I am going to bring new life into the world too. It ends in a positive place so far,’ Katy revealed, making reference to her first pregnancy.

The singer is expected to give birth to her and fiance Orlando Bloom’s baby daughter in only a few weeks.

This will be her very first child while this makes the actor a father of two since he also has a son from his previous marriage.

Katy also touched upon her decision to release new music amid the quarantine, simply explaining that as soon as she welcomes her bundle of joy, she will be entering her own personal type of quarantine so this was the only proper time to do it!
