Rapper DMX Passes Away At Age 50
Unfortunately, the rapper and actor DMX passed away at 50 years old. A rep for the family told Pitchfork that the rapper lost the battle with death and he, unfortunately, passed away.
He’s been hospitalized on April 2 following an apparent drug overdose and a subsequent heart attack.

The tragedy happened at his home in White Plains, New York. The rapper was 50 years old and the family issue the following official statement, according to the online publication mentioned above.
“We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days. Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him,” the sad note reads.
The official note continues and says: “Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever. We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle and the man the world knew as DMX. We will share information about his memorial service once details are finalized.”
The Shade Room also announced the tragedy and reveals that “Last week, he was rushed to the hospital after suffering from an apparent overdose. For the past week, he has been on life support with little brain activity, as many family members, fans, and friends have been praying for a different outcome.”
TSR continues and reveals that “At this moment we are sending our deepest condolences to DMX’s loved ones and keeping them lifted in prayer. His legacy will continue to live on forever.”
