Kangana claims KJo bullied Priyanka after latter says she was cornered in Bollywood
Priyanka Chopra opened up about feeling “cornered” in Bollywood and how she was almost forced to leave to pursue a career in the West. While the Dostana actor did not take any names, actor Kangana Ranaut is pointing fingers at filmmaker Karan Johar for “banning” and “harassing” the actor.
In conversation with Dax Shepard, Priyanka, who has made a name for herself in Hollywood with roles in Quantico and Baywatch, revealed that she felt pushed into a corner in Bollywood due to opposition from industry insiders. “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break,” she said.
While she was dealing with the blatant discrimination, her manager Anjula Acharia suggested that she pursue a music career in the US – and the rest became history! Talking about how “desperate” she was to move out of Bollywood, she added, “This music thing gave me an opportunity to go into another part of the world, not crave for the movies I didn’t want to get but I would require to schmooze certain clubs and cliques of people. It would require grovelling and I had worked a long time by then that I didn’t feel like I wanted to do it.”
Kangana, expanding on Priyanka’s statement, shared a series of tweets to accuse Karan of “bullying” Priyanka. “This is what Priyanka Chopra has to say about Bollywood (that) people ganged up on her, bullied her and chased her out of the film industry. A self-made woman was made to leave India. Everyone knows Karan Johar had banned her,” levelled Kangana.
She further added, “Media wrote extensively about her fall out with Karan Johar because of her friendship with Shah Rukh Khan and movie mafia Cruella who is always looking for vulnerable outsiders. They saw a perfect punching bag in Priyanka Chopra and went all out in harassing her to the point where she had to leave India.”

The Manikarnika actor demanded Karan Johar be “held accountable” for his biased actions.“This obnoxious, jealous, mean and toxic person should be held accountable for ruining the culture and environment of the film industry which was never hostile to outsiders in the days of AB or SRK. His gang and mafia PR should be raided and held accountable for harassing outsiders,” she concluded.

Kangana and Karan have been at odds since the actor referred to him as the “flag bearer of nepotism” on Koffee with Karan season 5.
However, this isn’t the first time Priyanka spoke against the brutalities of Bollywood. On The Ranveer Show last year, the actor shared how “certain people” tried their best to not let her work in the industry. “I have had people wanting to jeopardise my career, take away from my work, make sure I wasn’t cast just because I was doing well in what I was doing,” she shared.
On the work front, Priyanka will next be seen in the spy series Citadel alongside Richard Madden. The show is set to stream on Prime Video from April 28. She is also expected to return to Bollywood with the Farhan Akhtar directorial Jee Le Zara, co-starring Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif.
