My brothers have slept with all my friends: Sonam Kapoor drops bombs on ‘Koffee with Karan’
Renowned Bollywood actors and cousins Sonam Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor are ready to take the hot seat on the upcoming episode of Koffee with Karan. The chat show returned for its seventh run in July, and has aired five episodes so far, all of which have received mixed reviews from avid KwK fans.
The teaser for the forthcoming episode shows a very pregnant Sonam in a black gown seated on the KwK couch alongside Arjun, who sports a tan jacket. Much like Kareena Kapoor, Sonam has a reputation for being one of the most controversial guests on the show. Her honest-to-a-fault attitude has often landed her in trouble and her confessions have often made headlines.
In the past, Sonam has admitted that Ranbir Kapoor is not “good boyfriend material,” and shared her debatable take on the assumption that “plain-looking actresses are talented.” It seems her appearance this year won’t be without its fair share of controversies either. The one-minute teaser sees Sonam geared up to make some fiery admissions, as she reveals that her brothers have “slept with” all her friends, and that between them, “there is no one left.” Scandalised, Arjun inquires, “What kind of sister are you? What are you saying about us?” He goes on to say that he feels he’s been called on the show to be trolled by Sonam. “Sonam is back, ladies and gentlemen!” he declares.
And before making the discomforting revelation about her brothers, Sonam appears to be clueless about the name of Ranbir’s upcoming film – the INR 300 crore, 10-years-in-the-making epic, Brahmastra. She describes it as “Ayan’s film”, upon which, co-producer Karan asks her if she knows what it’s even called. Struggling to recall the name, she says, “Shiva number 1.” Arjun face-palms, sighs, and tells her, “You’re a mess, yaar Sonam.”
The teaser also reveals the bit where Karan asks Arjun to share how he has saved girlfriend Malaika Arora’s number on his phone. The actor reveals it’s simply saved as Malaika because he likes her name. He also speaks about how self-obsessed his cousin Sonam his. “She doesn’t wait for others to compliment her,” Arjun jokes, to which Sonam says that it’s because she’s Anil Kapoor’s daughter.
The latest season of Koffee with Karan has so far featured Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh, Janhvi Kapoor-Sara Ali Khan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu-Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday-Vijay Deverakonda, and most recently, Kareena Kapoor Khan-Aamir Khan.
The upcoming episode will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on August 11 at 12 am.
