ISLAMABAD: Pakistan cricketers went through COVID-19 virus testing procedure at their arrival in Derby and were asked to stay in complete self-isolation for the next three days.
An official accompanying the team has confirmed that 36 contingent members including 24 players and 12 officials went through the testing procedure upon arrival at Incora Cricket Ground Derbyshire Friday.
“All members of the contingent went through the COVID-19 testing at the arrival here. All these tests will be analyzed thoroughly before results sharing, meaning around 24 hours will be required for the procedure to complete,” the official said.
All members of the contingent will stay confined to their rooms for the first three days. “It will be on June 28 that those turning negative will be allowed to use the ground or outdoor facilities. Till then every player and official will stay in complete isolation. Foods and other necessary items are being provided within the rooms as no one is allowed to step outside for the first three days.”
However, to keep cricketers busy and physically fit, an exercise plan has been chalked up which these players will follow while staying within their rooms. “Cricketers have been asked to stay busy and continue with their physical exercise for three to four hours daily to keep themselves fit,” the official said.
