President Arif Alvi hosts reception for teams

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi hailed return of international cricket to Pakistan and hoped that the Test match at the Pindi Stadium starting from today (Friday) would be entertaining one for the crowd.

He was talking at the reception hosted in honour of Pakistan and Bangladesh cricket teams at the Presidency Thursday afternoon.

“Pakistan is safe for sports and cricket is no exception. We love and cherish our cricket heroes. The return of international cricket to the country is a welcoming sign.”

President welcomed Bangladesh team. “You are our guests and we always greet our guests with open arm.”

He hoped that the guests’ stay in Pakistan would be comfortable. “We are expecting entertaining cricket from both teams. Our people love their cricket heroes.”

Besides both teams and officials, Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Dr Fehmida Mirza and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani were also present at the reception.
