Shoaib Akhtar calls for country-wide lockdown

LAHORE: Legendary fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has requested Prime Minister Imran Khan to enforce a complete lockdown in the country.

The fast bowler, fondly called Rawalpindi Express, said in a YouTube video that he found that the people of Rawalpindi were not taking the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) seriously. He said he was disappointed at seeing people still out and about and not following the concept of social distancing.

PM Imran has so far shied away from enforcing a country-wide lockdown. Akhtar pleaded with him and the federal and provincial governments to revisit their stance before the virus causes mayhem as it did in Italy.
