Mufti Abdul Qavi undergoes lie-detector test
MULTAN: Mufti Abdul Qavi underwent polygraph test at Forensic Science Laboratory in Lahore in connection with ongoing investigations of murder of social media sensation Qandeel Baloch in July last year.
The cleric was arrested on the highway from Multan to Jhang last week after his request for an extension in pre-arrest bail was rejected by a court in Multan.
According to sources, Mufti Qavi was taken to Lahore, where he was made to undergo the life-detector test to ascertain truth in the murder case.
The mufti was questioned regarding his contacts with Qandeel Baloch and his brothers.
The model and actress was strangulated to death by his brother in the name of honor weeks after she posted her selfies with Mufti Qavi at a hotel in Karachi.
Police had included Mufti Qavi’s name as a suspect in the murder case of the social media celebrity on the request of her father, Muhammad Azeem.
Mufti Qavi has denied his involvement in the murder. – SAMAA
