Expo Pakistan-2017 to kick off from Nov 9

KARACHI: A four-day Expo Pakistan -2017 is going to be held from November 9 to 12 in the mega city.

This was stated in a meeting chaired by Commissioner Karachi Aijaz Ahmed Khan to review arrangements pertaining to the Expo Pakistan -2017, said a statement issued here on Wednesday.

It was decided that extraordinary security arrangements and special measures will be taken for cleaning of Shahr-e-Faisal and other roads as well as roundabouts.

Director General, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Rafay Bashir Shah briefing the meeting said that during the first three days the expo will be open only to foreigners and the last day the general public will be allowed to visit.

More than 150 exhibitors will put Pakistani products on display in the expo and over 800 foreigners will participate in it.

Adding that some ministers from foreign countries are also expected to visit the exposition.

The meeting was informed that banners and informative posters pertaining to the expo will be displayed on various roads to highlight the importance of the event.

Commissioner Aijaz said that the expo has national importance and it is a mega one. He said that departments concerned should play their part for the success of the expo and ensure foolproof security.

Besides others the meeting was attended by the Additional Commissioner Karachi-I Farhan Ghani and DIG Police South Azad Khan. – APP
