Journalist movement: Second book of Ahfazur Rehman’s book launched
A second book of publisher Ahfazur Rehman’s book ‘Sab se Bari Jung’ has been published by Awami Kitab Ghar.
It covers a journalists’ transformation of 1977-78 in that a vast series of reporters participated.
As many as 523 journalists, sub-editors and journal workers from Karachi and Lahore were arrested. The reporters who lifted their voices opposite press censorship were attempted by troops courts and were condemned from 6 months to one year in prison, and were beaten adult as well.
Rehman’s book includes a ordeals faced by several such reporters in jail along with photographs. The cover has been designed by artist and cartoonist Fika.
